Evidence-Based Practices

Evidence-based practices are EBP programs, services, or practices that integrate the best research evidence with clinical expertise, cultural competence, and the values of the clients receiving the services. The Advocate Program is committed to employing EBP wherever possible: assessment, supervision, case management, or treatment. EBP implies that: there is a definable outcome(s); it is measurable; and it is defined according to practical realities (recidivism, victim satisfaction, etc.). For much more information on EBP and various applications in corrections see www.nicic.gov.
